License Management For A Multinational Fashion Apparel Retail Company

The Client

Our client is a multinational fashion apparel retail company with a significant presence in five key markets, namely Thailand, Hong Kong, China, Korea, and Singapore. With around 1,000 shops in these markets, the client is considered one of the key players in the Asian fashion industry.

The Challenge

Despite having an internal team of 30+ engineers, our client needed to diversify its skill sets to meet the varying needs of its management. The client attempted to outsource some projects to vendors, but the results were unsatisfactory, mainly due to a lack of technical and business expertise, as well as project management capacities.

One of the client's complex projects was the License Management Platform, with a large scope and complicated business rules, making it challenging to deliver within the set deadline. As a result, finding the right partner for this critical mission was imperative.

The Approach

Weaver team was selected based on its excellent delivery quality in past small and medium-sized projects. Weaver's capabilities were instrumental in securing the client's success by:

  • Adopting a proper Project Management Approach: Weaver's flexible project methodology was comfortable for both parties, with regular direct communication and feedback prioritized over standard procedures.
  • Investigating the Requirements in Depth: Weaver allocated a strong Business Analyst/Product Owner who regularly discussed and clarified the requirements with the client, preparing epics and user stories for efficient sprint execution.
  • Engaging in Both Technical and Business Solutions: Weaver's proactive involvement in the client's technical and business solutions made them an in-house division of the client's team, beyond the standard outsourcing context.
  • Planning Collaboratively: The client and Weaver team prioritized user stories and planned achievable sprints to overcome tight delivery deadlines.

Final Result

With a strong team and quality-driven deliveries, Weaver completed the License Management platform for the client. The platform includes full CRM and sales management features and a License Management System. The platform is still actively maintained and developed, with frequent releases of new features.

Overall, Weaver's approach ensured the successful delivery of the License Management Platform, and the client's requirements were met. The strong collaboration between the client and Weaver team set the foundation for future projects, ensuring the client’s continued success in the fashion industry.
